Poland is providing food, places to stay, and clothes, helping to set up education for children, and enabling access to medical help. As many Poles decided to host Ukrainian families in their own houses, no single refugee camp was necessary to open.
ALK Senior Management is also concerned by the situation. Therefore, they decided to support our employees at the Krakow office by offering additional flexibility within working hours to active participation in charity activities to help Ukrainian refugees.
Since April colleagues from the ALK office in Kraków have been preparing sandwiches and delivering them to refugees at helping point around the city.
So far, they have delivered 1,000 sandwiches, 90 kg of fruits, 12 kg of pet food, medicines, sweets, toys, and clothes. ALK Poland joined the initiatives and donated 9 laptops and 17 monitors for organizations helping Ukraine.
Rafał Łazur, Global IT Supporter and one of the coordinators said: “In August, we have set up an office swap. Here we are exchanging clothes, books, board games, and other stuff – for each sold item, a certain amount will go to our Sandwich Action jar. All the initiatives are to be continued, and more will come.”
Earlier this, ALK also donated 25,000 Jext® pens to Ukraine, which have been distributed to hospitals and clinics in the country.
